PlayOJO About Us

Who runs PlayOJO, what it promises Canadian players and who writes this guide. The casino facts come from PlayOJO's own pages and public registers, and every page here shows when they were last checked.

PlayOJO in a Nutshell

PlayOJO launched in 2017 with one idea that still shapes the whole site: rewards come without wagering, so whatever you win from them is yours to keep.

OJO, the PlayOJO mascot

The casino is run by Skill On Net Limited, a Malta company, and holds a Malta Gaming Authority licence, number MGA/CRP/171/2009. When we last looked at the MGA register in September 2026, the status read Licensed. Players in Ontario use playojo.ca, which appears in the iGaming Ontario directory of regulated sites with Skill On Net Ltd as the operator. Players in the other provinces read PlayOJO's Canadian pages at playojo.com/ca/.

The promise is short and PlayOJO puts it up front: no wagering on any reward, free spin wins paid as cash, no max win on free spins and no minimum withdrawal. We have read enough bonus terms to know how rare that mix is.

The lobby holds 3,000+ games from over 50 providers, according to PlayOJO's own About page, with about 290 jackpot slots and more than 60 live games such as Dream Catcher, Monopoly Live and Gonzo's Treasure Hunt. The games carry an RNG certificate from iTech Labs, and eCOGRA acts as the dispute resolution service if a complaint cannot be settled with the casino directly.

New players in Canada currently get 50 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza with a first deposit of C$10 or more. Each spin is worth C$0.10, the wins are paid as cash, and the spins expire after 24 hours, so claim and play them the same day. The full rules are on our bonus page, and the offer itself waits at PlayOJO Canada.

What Makes PlayOJO Different

Most casinos reward loyalty with points and bonuses you have to play through first. PlayOJO built its own set of features instead, and none of them carry wagering.

There is also Hot or Cold, a meter that shows the most and least profitable games of the moment, refreshed every 5 minutes. PlayOJO itself says it is no indicator of results, and we read it the same way: fun to glance at, not a strategy. The VIP side gets its own page, where we explain how Club OJO invitations work.

About Us and This Guide: How We Check

We are a small team writing one guide about one casino for players in Canada. Keeping it that narrow means every claim can be traced back to PlayOJO's own pages instead of to what other sites repeat.

  1. Read the casino's pages

Offers, Specials, cashier notes and the safer gambling tools come from PlayOJO's Canadian pages first. If a figure is not published there, we say so rather than guess.

  2. Read the terms in full

The Reward and Game Play Policy and the small print under each offer. The welcome spins, for example, are for first-time depositors only and expire after 24 hours.

  3. Check the registers

Licence details are confirmed on the Malta Gaming Authority register, and the Ontario listing in the iGaming Ontario directory. A number printed in a footer is not enough on its own.

  4. Check the rules on offers

For Ontario we read the AGCO advertising standard, which explains why offers appear only inside playojo.ca, the app or messages you agreed to. Details are in our Ontario rules guide.

  5. Write it plainly

Short sentences, amounts in C$ and no promises the casino does not make itself. Where PlayOJO's exact wording matters, such as the Hot or Cold disclaimer, we keep it.

  6. Re-check the dates

Offers and cashier lists change. We go back to the source, compare line by line, and move the Checked date only when that comparison has really been done.

These are the sources we return to most often:

If something on this site ever disagrees with PlayOJO's live pages, trust the casino's page. We catch up on the next check.

The Author: Michael Roberts, Casino Expert

Michael Roberts writes and checks the pages on this site. His name is in the byline at the bottom of every page, just above the footer, together with three dates.

Michael covers Canadian online casino guides, and he spends most of his time on the two parts players tend to skip until something goes wrong: the cashier and the terms. That means reading which payment methods the Canadian cashier actually lists, what the minimum deposit is, how a withdrawal gets approved, and what each offer's small print says about expiry and eligibility.

What the three dates mean

DateWhat it marksWhen it moves
PublishedFirst day liveNever
UpdatedLast text editReal edits only
CheckedLast fact checkEach comparison

Swipe the table sideways to see every column.

Published is the day the page first went live, and it stays the same for good. Updated is the last time the text itself was really edited: rewriting a paragraph counts, a menu change does not. Checked is the last time the facts on the page were compared with PlayOJO's own pages, even when nothing needed to change. A page can therefore show an older Updated date next to a fresh Checked date, which simply means the facts still held.

Where to find them. The byline with all three dates sits at the bottom of every page on this site, above the footer. This About Us page works the same way.

What to Do if Something Did Not Work

Most problems at an online casino fall into four groups. Here is what we would try first in each case.

I can't log in
Check you are on the right site first: Ontario players sign in at playojo.ca, while players in other provinces use PlayOJO's Canadian pages at playojo.com/ca/. Live chat opens once you are logged in, so if you are locked out completely, use the support e-mail address that PlayOJO publishes on its own site.
My deposit was declined
The minimum deposit is C$10, so smaller amounts will not go through. The Canadian cashier lists Visa, Mastercard, Interac e-Transfer, MuchBetter, paysafecard, ecoPayz (Payz) and AstroPay, and crypto is not on it. If you set a deposit limit and have reached it, the cashier stops you by design, and a raised limit only applies after 24 hours. Some methods may carry a deposit fee, which the cashier shows.
My withdrawal is pending
PlayOJO checks ID before paying out. Documents are usually reviewed within 12 hours, and payouts are aimed within a few hours after approval. Withdrawals only go to a method in your own name, so a card or wallet registered to someone else holds things up. There is no minimum withdrawal. If it still sits there, ask live chat what is missing, and read our safety and payouts guide.
I want a break
Open OJO Safeguard in My Account. A cooling-off lasts 24 hours, 48 hours or 7 days, a temporary suspension 30, 60 or 90 days, and self-exclusion starts at 6 months. Our self-exclusion guide walks through each step. To close the account for good, ask live chat: closing is not the same as self-exclusion.

Support is live chat, open 24/7 once you are logged in, and there is no phone line. If gambling has stopped feeling like fun, free and confidential help in Canada is available from ConnexOntario and the Responsible Gambling Council.

What Players Say About PlayOJO

We read what OJOers say about the casino in reviews, forums and app store comments, then retold the points that keep coming back in our own words.

PlayOJO About Us FAQ

Who runs PlayOJO?

PlayOJO is run by Skill On Net Limited, also written SkillOnNet, a company based in Malta. It holds a Malta Gaming Authority licence, number MGA/CRP/171/2009, and the register showed the status Licensed when we checked in September 2026. In Ontario the same company, as Skill On Net Ltd, operates playojo.ca, which is listed in the iGaming Ontario directory of regulated sites.

When did PlayOJO launch?

PlayOJO launched in 2017. From the start it has built its name on rewards without wagering, and the promise still stands for Canada today: no wagering on any reward, free spin wins paid as cash, no max win on free spins and no minimum withdrawal.

Can I play at PlayOJO in Ontario?

Yes. Ontario players use playojo.ca, which appears in the iGaming Ontario directory of regulated sites with Skill On Net Ltd as the operator. Under the AGCO advertising standard, bonus offers are shown inside the site or the app, or in messages you agreed to receive on the site itself, so you will not see them advertised publicly in Ontario.

Who writes this guide?

Michael Roberts, Casino Expert, writes and checks the pages on this site. He covers Canadian online casino guides with a focus on cashier and terms checks. Each claim is compared with PlayOJO's own pages, its terms and the public registers, and the byline at the bottom of every page shows when that comparison last happened.

What do Published, Updated and Checked mean?

Published is the day a page first went live and it never moves. Updated is the last real edit of the text on that page. Checked is the last time the facts were compared with PlayOJO's own pages, even when nothing needed to change. All three dates sit in the byline at the bottom of every page, just above the footer.

How do I contact PlayOJO support?

Through live chat, which is open 24/7 once you are logged in. PlayOJO also publishes a support e-mail address on its own site, which helps if you cannot get into your account at all. There is no phone line. Deposit limits, cooling-off and self-exclusion can be set yourself in OJO Safeguard inside My Account.

How old do I have to be to play at PlayOJO in Canada?

PlayOJO's Canadian pages set the age at 19, which is the legal age in Ontario and most provinces. In Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec the legal age is 18, but PlayOJO's own Canadian pages still say 19. PlayOJO also checks ID before paying out any withdrawal.
